From barrio nights to your smartphone screen — the card game we all grew up playing is now live, fast, and rewarding at 777jilli. Laro na, kabayan!
Filipinos love card games — and Tongits is at the heart of it all.
If you've ever spent a long afternoon at your lola's house, chances are Tongits was on the table. It's one of those games that needs no introduction — everybody from Luzon to Mindanao knows the basics. Three players, a standard 52-card deck, and a whole lot of strategy mixed with just the right amount of luck.
What makes Tongits different from most card games is how social it feels. You're not just playing cards — you're reading people. When do you dump a card? When do you call a "draw"? When do you let your opponent pick up that dangerous seven of diamonds you just discarded? These small decisions make every round feel alive.
At 777jilli, we took everything Filipinos already love about Tongits and brought it into a clean, fast, mobile-friendly platform. You get the same thrill — minus the need to shuffle cards yourself. Whether you're killing time on your commute or grinding for real cash on weekends, 777jilli's Tongits tables are always open.
New player or just brushing up? Here's everything you need to know before sitting down at a 777jilli Tongits table.
Tongits is played by three players using a full 52-card deck. The dealer gets 13 cards; the other two players receive 12 cards each. The remaining cards form the central draw pile (the "stock").
On your turn, draw one card from the stock or pick up a discarded card to complete a meld. Then discard one card face-up. You can also lay down melds (sets or sequences of three or more cards) to reduce your hand count.
The round ends when a player declares "Tongits" (empties their hand completely), calls a "draw" (challenges after the stock is exhausted), or when the stock runs out. The player with the lowest point total in their remaining hand wins.
| Combination | Description | Example | Rank |

| Sequence (Dalawa) | 3+ consecutive cards of the same suit | 5♣ 6♣ 7♣ 8♣ | Strong |
| Two-Card Pair | Held in hand but not laid down; adds to score if unmelded | J♠ J♥ (in hand) | Neutral |

Tongits is half skill, half reading the room. These tips will sharpen both sides of your game.
The cards your opponents throw away tell you exactly which melds they don't need — and which ones they're building. Keep a mental track of discards to avoid feeding their hand.
Laying down melds quickly reduces your hand count. Even if you don't plan to call Tongits right away, exposing melds early protects you if another player forces a draw challenge.
Aces and face cards carry the most points. If you can't build them into a meld quickly, dump them early — holding on to high cards late in the game is a surefire way to lose on points.
Calling a draw forces all players to count their remaining hand points. Only do it when you're confident your total is lower than both opponents — a bad draw call can hand someone else the win.
Don't go all-in trying to Tongits every round. Consistent low-point hands over multiple rounds will win you more chips than one spectacular round followed by three bad ones.
Sometimes holding a card a little longer than necessary makes your opponents think twice. If they think you're building a meld, they'll hesitate to call a draw — and that hesitation gives you time to complete yours.
